A King of Kings - Shah (around Persian: شاه), from a Old Persian or Aryan word khshathra-pava ("king"), popularly referred to as "satrap" by the Greeks, is the Persian term for a monarch and used per previous rulers of Persia as well as a rulers of the Persian Empire. A title about translates when Emperor in English as a monarch of Persia was technically a Emperor of a Persian Empire (late the Empire of Iran when Iran was officially known until 1935).

A go Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi officially adopted the title شاهنشاه Shâhanshâh ("Emperor", literally "King of Kings") when you took his investiture. He too styled his married woman شاهبانو Shahbânu ("Empress"). A title Shâhanshâh was adopted from either Iranians by the Ottomans for a great hero or Emperor.
